Founded in 1886 as a parquet flooring company by Samuel Curtis Johnson the first example of innovation was recognising a need for a specially formulated product to care for the parquet floors, Johnson’s Prepared Paste Wax.
The company , owned and managed by the Johnson family since 1886, is in its 5th generation now and has a presence in over 70 countries around the world.
The UK was the first subsidiary and was established in 1915 with offices in High Holborn, London. The business prospered throughout the war years and by 1919 it had outgrown the premises and a new much larger site was found in West Drayton. Since that time the UK company has gone from strength to strength and is now located on a purpose built site in North West Surrey.
